Description
Yomido is the goddess of dungeons and the underworld (冥府) in the world of the story. The surface world knows her by fear, calling her the "Death Evil-God Yomido" (死の邪神ヨミド) who reigns over the eight Death Kings; her cultists are branded anti-dungeon fanatics and enemies of explorers, and her name is invoked as the origin of the worst undead "Death Tomb" (死の墓) dungeons, whose systems her believers exploit by offering the dead as tribute to feed the dungeons and, ultimately, revive her. She is thus first introduced in the story (around chapters 124-128) purely as a distant, ominous deity rather than a person.
When Wof finally meets her in person, the reality is jarringly at odds with her dread reputation. She is a member of the cat-god race (猫神種 / cat-people), with red feline eyes, black cat ears, and two black tails of differing length. She is almost the exact double of Pakira — Wof repeatedly describes her as Pakira's "2P color," a black-palette mirror of the white-haired swordswoman (Pakira hides her left eye, Yomido her right; Pakira wears black, Yomido a translucent white nightdress). She is sleepy, childlike, and playful, speaking in terse clipped fragments and referring to herself as "Warawa," a stark contrast to her feared title.
Rather than an antagonist, Yomido acts as a mysterious patron to Wof. She summons him to a strange star-filled "mystery space" and, calling in a debt (she secretly slowed time during Wof's Knife Magic training under the Knife Goddess), tasks him with finding the successor to the Wind Death King, handing him the Legendary Wind King Underworld Orb to create the next holder. She reveals that Shiro is the Light Death King and Ambrosius the reincarnated Dark Death King, and hints she is also a god of time. She has no interest in the world-descent that her fanatical Paleedo cult schemes toward — something she herself does not want and would violently reject.
Her deepest connection is to Pakira. Yomido appoints Pakira as her official earthly agent (地上代行者), granting her the Avgrund staff (an Oreparts) and the True God-Incarnation Relic 【Yomido】, which lets Pakira briefly transform into the goddess herself (about three minutes, with a multi-day cooldown). Lore from Pakira's homeland even holds that Yomido was worshipped as a goddess of the cat-people, raising the question of why the two are so identical — a mystery neither of them can fully explain.
