Mercurius Gloria

Mercurius is the first prince of the Kingdom of Gloria and former heir apparent. His skill belongs to the taming category and is high enough to control even Royal Orcs — the highest subspecies of orc. Alan learns this by chance through the Divine Eye and immediately understands how dangerous such knowledge is.

It is Mercurius who is behind the Royal Orcs' attack on the third princess Selena on the road — Alan's first meeting with the princess. Later it is he who prompts her guard Natalia to abduct Selena and sell her at the 'Katō' organization's underground auction of noble beauties, wanting to gloat over the humiliation of the 'useless princess.'

Having lost his status as heir, the prince nurses his spite and amuses himself with cruelty. When Alan teleports Selena straight off the auction block, Mercurius furiously demands that she be found and returned — unaware that the boy with the golden left eye, who also destroyed the crown-favored dark guild 'Diamant,' is the one repeatedly wrecking his plans.

Mercurius is the chief human antagonist of Selena's arc: from the Royal Orcs set upon her to his collusion with Natalia and 'Katō.' His cruelty toward his own kin and his deliberate wish to see her suffer make him the direct opposite of Alan, who saves her again and again.
