Natalia

Natalia is a knight of the third princess Selena's personal guard (a 'princess-guard'). At her first meeting with Alan she is the only one of the escort to survive the fight with the Royal Orcs, desperately shielding the princess with her own body. Yet she behaves arrogantly: she scornfully calls Alan, who saved them, a nameless adventurer, orders him about, and refuses any thanks.

Worse, she distorts events before Count Fanda and the Princess Guard, painting Alan as someone who ought to swear into service. This nearly leads to a fresh clash and shows her pettiness and conceit.

Natalia's true face is revealed later: yielding to the prompting of the first prince Mercurius, it is she who stuns Selena with a lightning blow and sells the abducted princess to the crime organization 'Katō' for auction. When Selena recovers her past-life memories, she names Natalia a traitor and refuses to forgive her.

From ostentatious loyalty to outright treachery: Natalia exemplifies how easily status and duty are sold in this world. Her betrayal sets off Selena's abduction arc and is one of the reasons the princess ultimately renounces the court.
