Diamond Dark Guild

Diamond is the kingdom's largest dark guild, a sprawling network of assassins, front companies, and informants. Its influence is such that neither kings nor nobles dare touch it, and the royal family itself uses the guild's services when needed. Its ranks include assassins of orichalcon-class strength.

Alan first runs into the guild back in Momentum, unaware of its scale: he destroys the local branch hired by the viscount to kill him. Later, in the capital, the trail of his stolen White Royal Tiger-Wolf leads to a cellar beneath the Grim trading house — one of the guild's 'public faces,' seventh in its hierarchy. There Alan, using the forbidden 'Memory Theft,' lays bare the whole structure.

It turns out the guild has infiltrated everywhere: its people even work inside the adventurer guild disguised as clerks and strong squads. The one behind the theft is Rin — a receptionist who is in fact the daughter of Diamond's head, acting through her lover, the deputy guildmaster. By destroying this structure, Alan unwittingly deprives the crown of its 'obedient' shadow organization — angering the first prince Mercurius all the more.

Diamond operates through front companies and agents embedded in the guilds and at court, and accepts contracts on anyone — from ordinary adventurers to nobility. It is the clash with this network that raises Alan's conflicts from the level of individual scoundrels to that of organized power and high politics.
