Annakreutzen

Annakreutzen is one of the Minos Dolls (ミノスドール), a squad of artificial maids created in the lab and modeled on Munieka. Like her sisters she has black bovine horns, blond hair, blue skin, and permanently closed eyes, and she cannot speak — communicating instead through gestures or by writing on a handkerchief. Her figure is patterned on the eighteen-year-old Munieka, and she wears her hair in a braid. Personality-wise she is quiet, gentle and kind (with, per the author's character notes, a slightly lewd streak). She is described as almost perpetually smiling, with a whole repertoire of different smiles.

She first appears as one of the anonymous training dolls Wof is made to fight during his combat lessons under Munieka, but she becomes a named, individual companion when Wof gives bracelets to the whole Minos Doll maid corps as tokens of thanks; she steps forward, organizes the other dolls into line to receive theirs, and each kisses him in gratitude. From then on she attaches herself to Wof's household as a maid, working closely with the talking Minos Doll Shardina — the two of them keep house together, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and minding the shop. Annakreutzen is happiest in the kitchen: she adores cooking and loves taking baths, and beams with delight whenever she serves food or pours tea for the group.

Her defining arc is the trauma she suffers on the 'Our Journey' travel trip. Caught in an ambush alongside Mineha, she refuses to abandon her and throws herself at the armed attacker again and again, being battered, cut and finally run through with a blade; Hoss is wounded shielding her. Though her doll body survives, the stabbing leaves her with a deep phobia of edged tools — devastating for someone who lives to cook, since she can no longer bring herself to hold a knife. Wof helps her confront this fear directly, gently pressing a fruit knife into her trembling hands and hanging it, sheathed, around her neck so she can slowly reclaim her love of cooking. In later chapters she is a settled fixture of the hideout, tending the household, nursing the sick, and still occasionally getting drunk together with the other dolls.
