Monk Golden Light is a dwarf cultivator — arrogant, cowardly, and fond of gold and showing off. He was the sole remaining male of the Qin Clan and fled with the Writ of Immortal Ascension to escape the destruction of his sect by the Ye Clan.
He served as Jia Tianlong's backup plan, meant to counter the three martial uncles of the Seven Mysteries Sect. Han Li, however, stepped in: he killed the monk and seized his treasures — the Writ of Immortal Ascension, a Golden Talisman and a Sword Talisman, along with a Golden Bell Shield.
Though a minor early antagonist in himself, his death matters to the plot: it is through him that Han Li obtains the Writ of Immortal Ascension.
