Badigadi

Badigadi is an immortal Demon King and the Battle God, third in the ranks of the world's Seven Great Powers. He is the brother of Kishirika, the Great Empress of the Demon World: they live in the same era thanks to events more than four thousand years past, and the Hitogami once reminds Badigadi of that old debt.

Being an immortal demon, he is all but invulnerable: his Battle God's armor is strong, and his body recovers instantly from any wound.

Badigadi is a mighty many-armed demon of colossal stature and strength. His arms, sheathed in golden gauntlets, are able to grow back straight from his body if they are severed. In battle the sheer enormity of his figure gives him away; after being sealed, his body shrinks markedly.

Contrary to his fearsome title of Battle God, Badigadi by nature dislikes war. By his own admission, he loves to wander, drink wine, laugh, flirt with chance women and embrace them, sometimes get a scolding from his betrothed, make friends, sing, and feast. He is a good-natured, booming demon reveler.

He keeps his word and stays true to his own law: even after losing and being taken captive, he refuses to fight on and prefers imprisonment.

Badigadi appears as early as Rudeus's wedding feast, where, making merry, he carries Julie on his shoulder. In the final war, in repayment of an old debt, he agrees for the one and only time to take the Hitogami's side: the Hitogami asks him to kill Rudeus and Orsted. Badigadi carries Geese on his shoulder and effortlessly presses back even Atofe and other demons.

In the decisive battle Rudeus, in the Magic Battle Armor (tempered by training with Orsted and Eris), holds him off and severs his arms, placing them in special seals where they do not regenerate, which causes Badigadi himself to shrink. In the end Orsted seals him — but does not kill him, at Kishirika's request; sealed away along with him are both the Battle God's War Armor and the Royal Dragon Sword.

Orsted offers the defeated Badigadi a chance to abandon the Hitogami and swear fealty to him, but he flatly refuses — not out of loyalty to the Hitogami, but because his “one time” of war is over and he no longer fights for anyone. He agrees to wait patiently in captivity: when — a hundred years or so hence — Orsted's war with the Hitogami ends, there will be no more point in holding him, and he will be released.

Badigadi is an immortal demon of monstrous strength and endurance. His chief power is indestructible defense and instant regeneration: slashing and piercing blows even from the mightiest swordsmen deal him no real damage, and severed limbs grow back at once. The Battle God's armor combines high speed and strength in him, though in pure speed he yields to the finest masters of the sword.

He is immune to the Demon Eye of Distant Vision — even Orsted does not know the reason: perhaps as a special god-like being, or because of something done in the past. The only way to stop him is to isolate the severed parts in special seals so that they cannot regenerate.
