Long Dong is a young master of the Long Family — one of the True Spirit Families of the Spirit Realm — and a cultivator at the Deity Transformation stage. The Long Family put the Yin Yang Extreme Mantra and other treasures up for auction to lure out members of the other True Spirit Families, and it was Long Dong who stood behind that purchase.
More than a century later, as war with foreign tribes loomed, he joined a Deep Heaven City scouting mission against the Wood Spirit Tribe. The party included the humans Han Li and Ye Ying alongside demons, and together they survived attacks by the Shadow Tribe and a powerful Wood Spirit.
Long Dong later treacherously attacked Ye Ying, stealing her true blood with the Blood Crystal Mohe Sword. When Han Li intervened, Long Dong tried to bribe him into switching sides but failed: Han Li destroyed the sword and seized the true spirit blood of both the True Dragon and the Heavenly Phoenix, forcing Long Dong to flee for his life.
