Dunia & Kronologi
The story unfolds in the murim — the self-governing world of martial sects across the Central Plains, where the edge of a blade and the sting of poison carry more weight than any imperial decree.
The murim is split in two. The orthodox side — the Nine Great Sects and One Gang, the Five Great Families — stands for order. Against them are the unorthodox sects and the Demonic Cult, whose ruler bears the title of Heavenly Demon.
The Tang Clan of Sichuan stands apart even among the Five Great Families: its strength lies not in the sword but in poison and hidden weapons. The Tangs' green robes are known across the plains, and the secrets of the Hall of Ten Thousand Poisons never leave the inner courtyard.
The tale opens at its own ending: Cheon Hwi, called the Sword Demon, falls to the Heavenly Demon and watches Dang So-wol — the last heir of the Tang Clan — die with him. Then he opens his eyes twenty years earlier, knowing everything that is still to come.
