The realm connects to the material world not through stable portals but through spatial joints and cracks, making travel into it unpredictable and dangerous; few who venture in for power or knowledge return unscathed. Its silent, haunting landscape teems with intelligent specters that possess their own language, layering further danger over any who intrude.
The World of Souls is bound up with necromancy and the darker aspects of magic, and it looms large over the story's exploration of the balance between life and death.
