A fool is someone who knowingly walks into a trap!
In truth, over the past five years, he had been quietly observing the opposite world, even attempting to project his Soul Seeds several times—all to thoroughly understand the nature of their interference.
After five years of ceaseless probing and verification, he had long since gained a comprehensive understanding of the methods they might employ, and had prepared emergency countermeasures.
"It's Attack Pattern Three! Activate the corresponding measures!" A sharp glint flashed through Leylin's eyes.
"Operation commencing! Spatial Anchor projection! Initiating reverse calculation of their coordinates…" The Chip began operating methodically.
A wave of mysterious spatial fluctuations emanated from Leylin's body.
"Coordinates confirmed? Shall we proceed with the strike?" the Chip asked mechanically.
"Yes." A faint smile tugged at the corner of Leylin's lips.
BOOM! CRACK! The glass instruments shattered, and many devices burst directly into flames. Watching it all, Cline looked as though he were about to go mad.
"What's happening? Someone tell me what the hell is going on?!" Cline roared, his eyes bloodshot.
Even Radiant Moon Wizards would have difficulty obtaining these high-grade Spatial Interference Devices. So many of them had blown out at once this time—his superiors would surely have his head.
"The other party has clearly also mastered some form of spatial technology, and they've launched a countermeasure!" An elderly man pushed up his spectacles and delivered his assessment.
"You're joking? Do you have any idea how much spatial technology and knowledge is worth? How could he possibly have gotten his hands on it?"
Cline's first reaction was disbelief.
"But there's no other explanation! If their reserves of spatial knowledge truly exceed ours, then we need to brace for an incoming spatial strike!"
The old man spoke rapidly.
"A spatial strike?" Cline froze, and in the next instant he saw a wall of chaotic spatial currents flooding over them, engulfing everything…
"Not bad!" Hearing the Chip's report, Leylin's mood immediately brightened.
The esoteric arts and academic knowledge regarding spatial coordinates were naturally exorbitantly priced — even within the Morning Star realm, such resources were rarely seen.
But he had the Chip, and his requirements for completeness of data weren't particularly stringent, so he still purchased several fragments.
Though he couldn't yet call himself a master in this field, ambushing a few fellow newcomers posed no problem at all.
"How dare you…!" A furious roar rang out as another
"Your opponent is me!" Accompanied by a lion's roar, another mage with golden hair, as if forged from pure gold, stepped in front of that Wizard.
"
"The other plan has been activated! So those are the Radiant Moon Wizards from Jupiter and the like?" Leylin cast one final glance back, committing their appearances firmly to memory.
Whoosh! The moment he broke through the world membrane, the vast power of the Astral Plane erupted immediately. Leylin's head spun, his entire body seeming to dissolve into a streak of light before vanishing completely…
Compared to the previous teleportation attempt, the power harnessed through the Astral Plane was by far more immense and boundless.
Enormous pressure crushed down upon Leylin's body like forged steel.
Cold, oppressive, frenzied!
In an instant, Leylin felt his bones creaking under the strain. One by one, his defensive barriers of light shattered and crumbled.
"This pressure… even the abyssal depths tens of thousands of meters beneath the sea would pale in comparison…"
These were the last thoughts flickering through Leylin's mind before consciousness faded. The only thing he could manage before slipping into total unconsciousness was to invoke the Multi-Arm strength, spreading dark green energy across his entire body.
…
This was a world of molten lava. Cracks split the earth almost everywhere, with blazing crimson magma surging through them like a vast network of red rivers.
Upon the surface of a massive black boulder, spatial distortions twisted together in a tangled mass, forming a semi-transparent gate of light. Flashes of lightning crackled around it without pause.
Hummmm!
The bolts of lightning lashed out faster and faster, until they converged into a single blinding beam of white light.
Boom! A massive explosion of white radiance erupted, flooding everything in searing brilliance. And once all the light had faded, both the gate and the lightning had vanished entirely. Only the scorched, blackened marks scorched into the ground remained, silently testifying to the otherworldly spectacle that had just occurred.
"Phew… I finally made it in!" Lei Lin furrowed his brows, sensing the dense concentration of fire elements surrounding him. "This level of density? I bet even a Wizard would believe you if you told them this was a fire-element world!"
Searing pain lanced through every part of his body, forcing a muffled groan from Lei Lin as he doubled over slightly.
"Chip?" Lei Lin immediately issued a mental command. "Scan my current condition!"
"Beep! Host has sustained 30.87% soft tissue damage, seven bone fractures, and internal organ bruising. Immediate treatment recommended!" the Chip reported faithfully, simultaneously projecting a three-dimensional hologram of a human figure before Lei Lin's eyes. Multiple injury markers glowed across the blue body.
Given Lei Lin's current constitution, the fact that he was still this badly hurt meant that an ordinary Wizard would have been reduced to nothing but scattered remains.
But his remarkable physical resilience, combined with his Warlock bloodline, was slowly mending the damage from within. Gradually, the tension in Lei Lin's brow eased.
"That was close — I nearly died outside the boundary membrane…" Even Lei Lin couldn't help but break into a cold sweat when he recalled what had just happened.
The boundary membrane! It was the outermost edge of an otherworldly dimension, even encompassing portions of the interstitial void — arguably the most powerful defensive force of any great world!
Every world possessed a boundary membrane, differing only in strength. The most famous of all was undoubtedly the Crystal Wall System of the
Its overwhelming power of isolation was enough to send even seventh-tier Wizards retreating in defeat. It enveloped an entire great world along with countless planes, forming the World of Gods' unique civilization and power system, and even blocking all outside prying — save for the ancient Wizards' invasion of old.
Before arriving in this lava world, the protection of the Multi-Armed Power had managed to keep Lei Lin conscious, allowing him to avoid the worst of the damage.
If one had to draw an analogy, the boundary membrane of a great world was like customs at a border crossing. If Lei Lin had not regained consciousness, he would have been forced to break through by brute strength, and would certainly have suffered a barrage of attacks — particularly the hostility of the World's
What Lei Lin had done, on the other hand, was equivalent to slipping through undetected. Since the World's Will hadn't spotted him, he attracted less attention, which would prove far more advantageous for his plans going forward.
"There's also this!"
Lei Lin pulled a silver necklace stardusted with starlight from beneath his shirt. Only after sensing that the connection it maintained was fully intact did he finally relax.
This necklace was, in truth, a representation of his link to the Astral Gate of the Wizard World. As long as that connection held, he could teleport back through the gate at any time.
When Lei Lin had first departed the Wizard World, the ambush launched by Klins had been aimed at severing this very connection — trapping Lei Lin in a foreign world, with no way to find the path home.
And that was exactly how
Of course, Klins had been thoroughly played by Lei Lin this time around and wouldn't be able to show his face for a long while. With the greatest threat also being held back by Wade, Lei Lin finally had some breathing room to attend to his own affairs.
Rescuing the two dukes from captivity was, after all, in line with Lei Lin's current interests and plans.
After all, he didn't currently have the strength to face the Thunder of Jupiter head-on by himself. He needed to find a few people to share the burden, and in that regard, Gilbert and the others were excellent candidates.
Besides, Gilbert still held a teacher-student bond with Lei Lin, making him someone he couldn't simply abandon.
After weighing his options for a while — especially after securing an escape route for himself — Lei Lin ultimately chose to come here and rescue them.
"But still… a world this vast — where am I supposed to find them?" Lei Lin gazed at the boundless lake of magma and the blazing clouds overhead, unable to suppress a bitter smile.
*Ding! External environment analysis in progress…* At that moment, the Chip immediately projected a massive stream of environmental data in front of Lei Lin.
"This is…"
Lei Lin extended his soul power outward and immediately sensed something different from the norm. In this world of molten lava, his Spiritual Power carried a slight sluggishness — the result of being out of sync with the world's rules.
"As I suspected — when the world changes, dimensions, many constants, even the forces between particles all shift. Differences in rules are bound to create enormous obstacles for Wizards crossing between worlds…"
A flash of understanding passed through Lei Lin's eyes. This was the kind of hard-won insight that many ancient Wizards had only gained after bumbling their way through countless failures.
"Fortunately, I've already condensed a Mass Point. Soul power is largely universal across different worlds — it just needs minor adjustments in certain subtle areas. If I were still relying on Spiritual Power, I'm afraid…"
A few threads of relief surfaced in Lei Lin's mind.
Soul power operated at a far higher level and was usable in nearly all worlds, making it vastly superior to Spiritual Power in practical terms.
Lei Lin estimated that if he were still using Spiritual Power here, he would immediately run into the embarrassment of being completely out of place — he might even have to start from scratch, converting his Spiritual Power into the unique form of spiritual energy native to this world. Although there would be no bottleneck in the process, it would certainly require a great deal of effort.
But now, with the use of soul power, more than half the problem was already solved.
"No wonder the ancients made Morning Star the minimum threshold for conquering other worlds — so this factor was part of the reason!"
Lei Lin stroked his chin.
*Ding! Environmental data collection complete. Generating elemental spectrum. Analyzing world rules. Initiating fine-tuning of primary soul waveforms…*
