The God of Truth is the supreme deity venerated by the Saint Truth Church (the Church of Truth) in Throne of Magical Arcana, and also goes by the name Thanos. The faithful hold him to be the creator and ruler of all - an omnipresent, omnipotent being who transcends time and space, embodying absolute truth, virtue, redemption and divine justice.
Doctrine teaches that the God of Truth does not require worship to exist, yet mortals must worship him to attain redemption and salvation, a belief that elevates him above the pantheon of other, "false" gods. His followers hold that his power was stolen by those false gods during a "lost phase," and that in time he will reclaim his supreme throne. On earth the Pope serves as his "Speaker," though a schism divides the South Church and North Church over the pontiff's divine authority.
His divine power extends beyond doctrine into miracles and metaphysics, most famously the spell "God's Arrival," accessible only to the Pope, which summons angels and celestial forces and was once used to defeat the last consul of a Magic Empire. Symbolized by light, the seven-layered radiance and the angels of Mountain Paradise, the God of Truth anchors a Church whose crusades against sorcerers and "false gods" make his faith a central force opposing the world's magicians.
