Gilbert

Gilbert is a grand duke of the kingdom and Third Elder of the magical organization known as the Ouroboros Ring, one of the highest-ranking magi in whose circle Leylin comes to move. Thanks to Gilbert's connections, the matter of granting Leylin's noble title and lands is resolved in the shortest possible time and under the most favorable conditions, which demonstrates the duke's weight in both the civil and magical affairs of the kingdom. Gilbert accepts Leylin among his disciples, placing him on the same level as the already known Robin, who acts as an intermediary between the newcomer and the master. Through this bond, Leylin enters the duke's circle of disciples and meets other powerful magi close to the Ouroboros Ring, among them the so-called "Blood Serpent," Milanta. In his conversations with Leylin, Gilbert shares his own experience — in particular, he mentions his old expeditions to the arid lands of the South Coast — serving for the protagonist the simultaneous role of protector, source of resources, and guide into the world of the supreme magi.
