Distorted Shadow

The Distorted Shadow is the surviving spiritual will of an elite rank-8 magus who mastered the Law of Distortion. Its residual intent persisted within an ancient sorcerers' pocket dimension, where it mutated into a mind-distorting parasitic being. It controlled the dimension's instability, created beings of distortion, and infected intruders. Leylin confronts it in the depths of the ruins and barely escapes when the dimension collapses after the destruction of one of its manifested parasites. The Distorted Shadow is one of the last antagonists Leylin Farlier faces in the novel. Its exact origin, like its true form, remains unknown.
