Fang Zheng
Description
Fang Zheng, born Gu Yue Fang Zheng, is the younger brother of the protagonist Fang Yuan and the story's righteous counterpart. Where Fang Yuan was cast out with C-grade aptitude, Fang Zheng awakened rare A-grade talent, became the disciple of clan leader Gu Yue Bo, and was raised as the future pillar of the Gu Yue Clan.
His early character is defined by an inferiority-superiority complex toward his brother: proud once chosen, yet hot-headed, gullible and easily manipulated. Repeatedly caught up in Fang Yuan's plots and used by those around him, he clings to a naive, defiant idealism, often refusing to accept truths laid plainly before him.
Captured by Fang Yuan and left to survive hardship far from home, Fang Zheng slowly matures. He sheds his arrogance, comes to grimly understand his brother's ruthlessness without forgiving it, and grows more humble and merciful. Cultivating the blood, enslavement and painting paths, he eventually rises to become a Gu Immortal and a figure of standing within the Heavenly Court.
