Description
The [Hero of Shadows] is a being spoken of across many countries: he suddenly appears in times of crisis and on battlefields, gallantly defeats the enemy, saves countless people, and then disappears without a trace. He asks for no compensation and is never thanked, because he is gone before gratitude can reach him, erasing all evidence he was ever present.
Because no one ever sees the man behind the deed, rumors fill the gap — that he is a neighboring prince, a divine messenger sent to undergo trials, or an extraordinarily skilled adventurer. In fact he is Phil Salemabart, working through shadow-and-binding powers ([Binding], [Unbound Freedom], the [Shadow Sea]).
In Volume 1 the legend collides with reality when the capital begins naming Phil as the Hero of Shadows, forcing him to fight a second, quieter battle to keep the two identities apart.
