Demon Eyes

The power to grant Magic Eyes belongs to a Demon Emperor, who is therefore called the Emperor of Magic Eyes: he holds twelve such eyes in his body and can turn others' eyes into magic ones. On the Man-God's advice, Rudeus fed Kishirisu as she starved in an alley, and in gratitude the Immortal Demon Emperor drove a finger into his right eye, endowing it with the Eye of Foresight.

Mastering the eye took a week: by gathering mana behind the eyeball, Rudeus learned to blur the present and see a second ahead. In close combat, where this world's creatures are swift, it became a vast advantage — though against blades of light even foresight does not always save him. The third eye on the brow of the Superd race is likewise a kind of magic eye, sensing any living being.

Magic Eyes are eyes endowed with special powers of sight. The best known are: the Magic Eye of Power — sees magic energy directly (the most common, about one in ten thousand); the Eye of Identification — shows details of an object, but only those the bearer already knows; the Eye of Penetration — sees through walls, save living beings and dense mana; the Far-Sight Eye — sees far off, but is hard to focus.

Set apart are the Eye of Foresight — showing the future a few moments ahead — and the Magic-Absorbing Eye, which drains others' (and one's own) magic energy. There is also a legendary eye that sees an opponent's 'line of death.' A constantly active eye is inconvenient, so bearers often cover it with an eyepatch.
