Ars

Ars is the king of Alveria and Varis's father, a man of about forty-five nicknamed the 'Warrior King'. He is the kingdom's strongest swordsman and personally, at the head of his army, defeated the demon-god Biblos at the battle of Bertea.

Ars largely handed domestic politics over to his son Varis, while he himself travels the country, listens to the people, and enjoys immense popularity. He was also Reina's teacher in the art of the sword.

In his youth Ars loved his fiancee Laura, but upon meeting the commoner healer Mina, he broke off the engagement and married Mina for love. This history left its mark on the fates of several families.

In the finale Ars abdicated in favour of Varis—his own martial fame offered too convenient a pretext for rebellion—and set off with Mina on a tour of the country that became their honeymoon.
