The power of barriers did not belong to this world — it came from the Spirit Realm, a mysterious world altogether.
A Spirit World Master served as a conduit, communicating with the Spirit Realm, drawing barrier power into his own body, and then unleashing it.
To communicate with the Spirit Realm, one had to use his own Mental Power to construct a Spirit World Space within his spiritual world.
Once the Spirit World Space was built, the gateway to the Spirit Realm would open, and with it the ability to wield barrier power. So what Chu Feng needed to do was condense his Mental Power and construct that Spirit World Space.
This was an extremely advanced technique — it demanded fine control over Mental Power and consumed a tremendous amount of it. It was an arduous task.
It was like building a house: Mental Power was the building material, and the strength of one's control over that Mental Power determined the quality of the structure.
But the moment Chu Feng mastered the method and stepped into his spiritual world to begin constructing his own Spirit World Space, he was stunned to discover that a Spirit World Space already existed there.
"What's going on?" Chu Feng had already entered his spiritual world.
It was a vast, boundless expanse, like being lost in the starry sky — except the glowing wisps that drifted all around were not stars but floating strands of gas.
Chu Feng could walk on air, roaming freely through this world, reaching any corner he pleased. Everything was under his control.
And right now, not far from where he stood, a massive palace had appeared. It was stunningly beautiful, shimmering with dazzling, multicolored light as though it had been carved from crystal.
Its shape was bizarre — impossible to describe — yet breathtakingly magnificent. It sat within this boundless spiritual world, stretching upward beyond sight, as if it led into another realm entirely.
Chu Feng was certain this had to be the legendary Spirit World Space. But he couldn't understand why such a grand Spirit World Space would already exist in his own spiritual world.
How much Mental Power would it take to construct something like this? What level of flawless control would be needed to create it? He knew for a fact he could never manage it himself.
"Hey, what are you spacing out for? Hurry up and come in! You idiot, how much longer are you going to make me wait!"
While Chu Feng stood there in a daze, a sweet voice suddenly rang out from within the Spirit World Space. It was melodious — the most beautiful voice Chu Feng had ever heard.
But after hearing it, Chu Feng was struck by even greater shock, because he recognized this voice. He had heard it before, in what he once believed to be a dream.
"Could it be that… it was all real?" Chu Feng found it unbelievable, but he still leaped forward and plunged into the Spirit World Space.
The Spirit World Space looked like a palace from the outside, but it was more like a towering pagoda that reached toward the heavens. There were no doors, yet Chu Feng passed right through the walls and stepped inside.
Once he entered, he quickly lost the ability to walk freely across the sky, and his feet settled firmly on the ground.
Everything that now lay before Chu Feng's eyes was something he had seen before — crystal-like walls stretching upward without end.
On one of those walls sat a strange gate, wrapped in layers of chains, from which a terrifying aura emanated.
And most importantly, nearby there was a massive black egg that was currently rattling on nonstop at Chu Feng like some kind of chatterbox.
All of this — wasn't it exactly what Chu Feng had seen that day in his so-called dream? Only now he understood: it had not been a dream at all. It was his Spirit World Space.
"Oh my, Chu Feng, you dummy, you're finally back in!"
