"No! Impossible!"

Jenna, collapsed on the ground with one hand clutching half her face, stared at Leilin with utter disbelief as he broke free.

"How could you get out?! I didn't see this happen in the future!"

Jenna screamed, the muscles on her face contorting grotesquely.

"I know now — you must be it! You're a traitor to fate!" Jenna's voice turned shrill.

"It doesn't matter what I am! What matters is — today, you're going to die a wretched death!"

Leilin's killing intent surged. Ever since he had embarked on the path of Wizards, this was the worst setback he had ever suffered!

Both the injuries to his body and his nearly broken left arm were not wounds that would heal easily. This would inevitably bring even more dangers to his mission in the secret realm.

At that thought, the fury in Leilin's heart burned even hotter.

"You wretched woman! I'll teach you the price of crossing me!"

Leilin roared, his only intact right hand clawing violently toward where Jenna stood!

Wisps of black smoke seeped up from the underground, creeping along the ground toward Jenna like ropes.

"Guard!" Jenna gripped the thick necklace around her neck.

A red gem flared to life, and a massive lava fireball materialized before her, hurtling toward the countless trails of black smoke.

BOOM!

A tremendous wave of energy burst outward. Scalding red lava splashed in every direction, burning black holes into the ground.

"Today! Even if you've stacked every wizardry you have on that necklace, it won't save you!"

A cold gleam flashed in Leilin's eyes.

Several black fireballs appeared instantly, merging in midair into one! A massive surge of energy erupted — the power of fifty-one degrees — blasting a gaping crater straight into the ground.

"Shadow Fireball!"

Leilin pointed at Jenna.

The enormous fireball plummeted like a falling sun, hurtling directly toward Jenna's position.

Before the black flames even descended, several beads of cold sweat appeared on Jenna's already pale face.

"Ice!" Jenna gritted her teeth and spat out a character in the ancient Byron language.

Instantly, the necklace around her neck emitted a flurry of white light, pearl after pearl lighting up in succession, as the波动 of ice magic spread outward.

Within the white radiance, over a dozen massive ice shields materialized before Jenna in an instant.

The surfaces of the great, translucent white shields clearly reflected the surrounding scenery, and the previous black fireball plummeted from the sky, slamming into the ice shields immediately.

Countless plumes of white steam billowed upward.

After traveling several meters, the steam quickly condensed into droplets of water and chunks of ice that rained down.

When everything finally settled, the ice shields before Jenna had vanished without a trace, and the Shadow Fireball had disappeared as well.

Within the white vapor, a dark silhouette suddenly burst forth.

Leilin, his entire body covered in fine Comoin Scales, charged straight to Jenna's front.

Tear!

The layer of ice defense that erupted from Jenna's necklace was instantly shredded by Leilin's right hand. At the same time, he slammed into her with a bear tackle.

Crack! Leilin's shoulder drove forward, the tremendous impact slamming into Jenna's body.

Sss! A milky-white membrane of light flashed across the surface of Jenna's clothing, enveloping her entire body.

This was Jenna's innate talent defense, finally erupting at the moment of greatest danger.

Crack! Crack!

Jenna rocketed backward like a derailed locomotive, snapping through numerous trees along the way.

"This woman…"

Leilin's eyes locked onto Jenna. After the exchange just now, he could confirm it — this Jenna was merely a newly ascended , and her degree of elementalization was far below his own. If not for an excellent piece of Magical Items and that strange foresight talent of hers, she would already be dead at his hands.

But given time to prepare at leisure, she could tailor devastating traps to exploit an enemy's weaknesses — like the White Pillar Cage from before. Even a peak First-level Wizard would suffer greatly!

"Enemies with foresight are the most troublesome. Today, her prediction had a flaw, and I got lucky. Next time, I might not be so fortunate!"

Leilin's gaze turned cold, like frost.

An enemy with foresight lurking in the shadows and scheming against you — tasting that even once was more than enough.

His killing intent had never been so urgent as it was now.

"Shadow Concealment!"

Leilin stared fixedly at Jenna, who had already scrambled to her feet. The scales on his body shimmered, gradually turning semi-transparent until his entire figure vanished into the air.

Against Jenna, he had decided to strike with full force. He would absolutely leave this wretched woman here today.

Seeing Leilin vanish into thin air, Jenna's expression grew even more grave. She could clearly feel his unwavering determination to kill her. Born with sharp instincts and further enhanced by an advanced Meditation Method, her sixth sense warned her that if she wasn't careful, the one who would die here today was herself.

This terrifying sensation gripped Jenna's heart for the first time. Deep within, her once unshakable will had already begun to waver.

For the first time, Jenna felt that coming out alone to ambush Leilin had been a terrible mistake.

This fear and regret gnawed at her already fragile mind like a venomous serpent.

At that moment, a pink heart-shaped gem on Jenna's necklace suddenly shattered.

Jenna's expression grew momentarily dazed, then hardened with resolve.

"A hallucinatory wizardry — with psychological suggestion woven in!" Her face flushed red. "Despicable!"

Bang!

In the next instant, a black figure appeared before Jenna.

Leilin's right fist struck the innate talent defense membrane around Jenna's body.

Crack!

The already weakened innate defense finally shattered under Leilin's iron fist, breaking into countless white motes of light that dissipated into the air.

Leilin's right hand grabbed hold of Jenna's right arm without any resistance this time.

Crack! A piercing sound of bone snapping rang out as Leilin tore Jenna's right arm clean off.

"Ahhh!" Jenna's face twisted in agony. Then, gritting her teeth again, the sashes on her clothing writhed as if alive, rapidly wrapping around the wound.

Simultaneously, a tremendous propulsive force erupted from her body, as though she intended to escape Leilin's attack range.

"Trying to run?"

Leilin's eyes fixed directly on Jenna. "Petrifying Gaze!!!"

Instantly, a mysterious light seemed to shoot from Leilin's amber slit-pupiled eyes, aimed squarely at Jenna.

"Petrification wizardry?!"

Jenna let out a cry of disbelief. After all, petrification-type wizardry had been lost to the entire Wizard world for a long time. Now, such abilities could only appear in certain bloodline creatures!

Then, a creaking sound came from Jenna's body, as if all her muscles had stiffened in an instant.

A layer of stony grey skin began spreading from Jenna's face outward.

Crack! Crack!

Before Leilin's eyes, Jenna was transforming into a grey-white stone statue.

Ding!

Just as the grey-white was about to completely engulf Jenna, a soft chime suddenly rang from the thick necklace around her neck.

The entire necklace began to float, and a faint, aged voice echoed: "Ultimate Life Protection — Activate!"

Light! A blinding white light engulfed the entire area in an instant!

When Leilin opened his eyes again, the stone statue before him had collapsed. Jenna was nowhere to be found. All that remained on the ground was a pile of shed stone skin.

Having discharged its final program, the thick necklace had finally reached the limits of its power.

Crack! Crack!

A ring of stony grey-white skin suddenly spread across the necklace's surface. The entire necklace petrified in an instant, fell to the ground, and shattered to pieces.

"That was… a substitution-type spell!"

Leilin's expression grew heavier. "A necklace of such tremendous power, hiding an ultimate substitution wizardry as its final trump card! Behind this Jenna, there is definitely a very powerful Wizard organization!"

Upon discovering this, the killing intent in Leilin's heart intensified even further.

"You can't escape!"

Leilin sniffed the air, then blue light surged from his eyes as he continuously scanned the surrounding traces.

A few dozen seconds later, Leilin's brow shot up, and he pursued rapidly in a specific direction.

"Quick… must get away!"

Jenna clutched her severed arm, sprinting through the forest at full speed.

"I even lost the necklace passed down through the family, and still couldn't kill him…"

Jenna's face was ashen. The necklace had been her family's inherited treasure, and losing it in her hands was a devastating blow.

"Damn heretic! Traitor to fate! One day, I will bring you to justice!"

Jenna swore silently.

"Found you!" A voice that sounded like a demon's to Jenna suddenly rang in her ear, accompanied by a blast of searing hot air.

Jenna dove to the side.

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted where she had been standing, sending dirt and vegetation flying everywhere.

At the same time, Jenna caught a whiff of something sweet from her nose. Her entire body went numb, and she collapsed to the ground, unable to move a muscle.

"It's over!"

Leilin approached Jenna, who had already inhaled a large dose of anesthetic potion, and expressionlessly raised his right hand.

"You… you can't kill me! Do you know who I am?!"

Jenna struggled, forcing out a few words.

Before Leilin could ask, she blurted out rapidly: "I am the current heir of the Guardian Family. I have excellent relations with all the major Wizard organizations in the White Wizard Domain. If you kill me—"

"Like I care who you are!"

Leilin's right hand blazed with black flames as he brought it crashing down!
