The reception hall on the first floor of Star Trail Trading Company.
This place was different from ordinary shops—it specialized in large cross-city transactions and had dedicated reception rooms. The first floor also featured a sales area that dealt in all sorts of goods: clothing, weapons, potions, alchemical items, magic scrolls, and more. It was practically like a real-world supermarket.
Trading companies were different from auction houses. Auction house fees were steep, and prices were generally much higher than what city trading companies and shops charged. Earning money in the Divine Realm was already hard enough, and having the Auction House snatch another fifteen percent on top of that was something ordinary players simply couldn't accept. So most players would rather spend extra time buying and selling through trading companies and shops than set foot in the Auction House.
"How may I help you, sir?" The elegant young lady behind the counter looked at Shi Feng and asked with a sweet smile.
"I need to see President Henry. You can tell him that Miss Xia Lian sent me," Shi Feng said.
"Please wait a moment. I'll notify the president right away."
Star Trail Trading Company was a wealthy operation—the receptionist alone produced an expensive Five-Colored Communication Crystal and relayed Shi Feng's message.
After a few minutes of waiting...
"Mr. Yefeng, the president is waiting for you in his office on the third floor."
"Thank you."
Shi Feng then headed toward the spiral staircase at the far end.
When he arrived at the president's office on the third floor, two level 150 guards stood watch at the entrance. Ordinary players had absolutely no way of getting into the president's office.
In his previous life, who knew how many guild higher-ups had lined up here, all wanting a chance to meet President Henry and rent a floor from Star Trail Trading Company for their business. Unfortunately, they never even caught a glimpse of the man's shadow.
The two towering, imposing guards saw Shi Feng approaching and opened the heavy mahogany doors without hesitation.
Inside the lavish and spacious office, a refined, dignified man around fifty had already been waiting for quite some time. This was none other than Henry, the president of Star Trail Trading Company—a big-name tycoon in White River City.
"Lord Yefeng, please have a seat." President Henry gestured toward the beast-hide sofa in front of him after spotting Shi Feng.
"President Henry, this is the contract Miss Xia Lian asked me to deliver to you." Shi Feng sat down, pulled the contract from his inventory, and handed it to Henry for inspection.
"There's no need." President Henry waved it off. "Before you arrived, Her Highness Xia Lian already informed me that you'd be coming. From her own lips I learned a great deal about you—truly an impressive young man." He nodded approvingly. "Now that you're here, I can rest easy."
"Rest easy? Rest easy about what?" Shi Feng looked bewildered, having no idea what President Henry was talking about.
And what exactly had Xia Lian told Henry?
"Hmm? Didn't Her Highness Xia Lian explain it to you?" Henry said, puzzled. "This contract is one I drew up with Her Highness Xia Lian. Whoever can resolve the crisis currently facing Star Trail Trading Company will receive a twenty percent stake in the company, along with a fourth-tier magic scroll obtained from ancient ruins."
"Twenty percent stake and a fourth-tier magic scroll?" Shi Feng's expression stiffened slightly.
Xia Lian was ruthless—she'd sent him off to solve the crisis, yet she was the one walking away with a twenty percent stake and a fourth-tier magic scroll.
"That's right. I've already heard it from Her Highness Xia Lian. As long as you can resolve this crisis, that fourth-tier magic scroll will be yours," Henry confirmed with a nod.
"May I ask—what kind of magic scroll is it?" Shi Feng was genuinely curious about a fourth-tier magic scroll.
In his previous life, the most powerful magic scroll Shi Feng had ever seen was a fourth-tier one. If sold, it would fetch at least five hundred gold coins at minimum. A particularly powerful fourth-tier scroll could go for over a thousand. But players who got their hands on fourth-tier magic scrolls rarely ever parted with them.
"It's a fourth-tier teleportation scroll. It can send you to any location instantly. However, this is ancient civilization technology—our current era has no way of replicating it. You could say this is the only one in the entire Star Moon Kingdom. It's extremely precious." Henry spoke with unmistakable pride. This scroll was part of his personal collection, and he had always been reluctant to part with it. If the trading company hadn't run into such a serious problem, he never would have offered it as a reward.
