Though Han Li was greatly puzzled by how remarkably fast Feng Yue's movement technique was, suspicion filled his mind.
But now was no time to dig for answers. With no better option, he put away the "Golden Light Brick" talisman treasure he had taken out and instead swung the mother blade of his "Golden Cicada Mother-Child Blade," sending all the child blades swarming out. They transformed into eight streaks of startling golden light, hurtling toward Feng Yue in a fierce volley — he would see if sheer numbers could turn the tide in the chaos.
If the opponent recalled his yellow beam to defend himself, that would be even better. At the very least, it would maintain a stalemate. But Han Li had little confidence in that outcome. For someone with such a fearsome reputation, his strength surely went beyond what he had shown so far. This attack was partly meant as a probe as well.
Sure enough, when Feng Yue saw the golden blades flying toward him, he showed not the slightest hint of panic.
He let out a few cold chuckles and held up something he had just produced — an umbrella-shaped artifact, yellow in color.
Feng Yue did not release the umbrella from his grip. Instead, unhurried, he waited until the eight golden streaks were upon him before snapping it open. A perfectly round, yellow sphere of light — something like a barrier shield — immediately enveloped his entire body. The golden blades struck the sphere and erupted in a string of crackling pops, easily bouncing off one after another.
This was yet another top-tier defensive artifact, and judging by its power, it was absolutely superior to Han Li's Flying Sky Shield.
Han Li's expression changed drastically, his face turning pale. Feng Yue, meanwhile, burst into wild laughter, his face brimming with smug satisfaction.
It was no wonder. Ever since he had acquired the "Yellow Gauze Umbrella," no low-level cultivator had ever managed to wound him. Seeing Han Li's shocked expression now naturally filled him with delight.
In Feng Yue's eyes, this umbrella was far more important than even the small-blade talisman treasure. After all, talisman treasures could only be used a limited number of times — once their power was spent, they were nothing but scrap paper. But this "Yellow Gauze Umbrella" could save his life again and again!
Han Li sighed, made a hand seal, and pointed a finger, recalling all the golden blades back into his hand, where they reverted to their original forms.
Feng Yue had no idea what Han Li was planning, but confident in his impregnable defense, he refocused entirely on commanding the yellow beam. He launched a devastating offensive, controlling the small blade like a streak of lightning, whirling it ceaselessly around Han Li — darting up and down, probing for any opening in the shield to slip through and slash at Han Li directly.
But what Feng Yue didn't know was this: in terms of defensive power and coverage, the Flying Sky Shield might be far inferior to his Yellow Gauze Umbrella artifact, but as for agility and responsiveness, this small shield absolutely outstripped any ordinary defensive artifact!
As a result, no matter how furiously Feng Yue drove the yellow beam, no matter how brilliantly he maneuvered it, the shield blocked it firmly every time. Only now did he realize that unless he completely destroyed this shield, there was simply no way to get close to Han Li!
Wearing a look of frustration, Feng Yue resigned himself to returning to the old strategy of using the small blade's yellow beam to slowly grind down the iron shield's defenses bit by bit. But even though most of the black light on the shield's surface had already been worn away, what remained was still enough to hold him off for a while.
At this point, Han Li gritted his teeth and made a decision that pained him greatly.
He stored the golden blades in his storage pouch and brought out a small, dark-green gourd instead. Raising it high, he launched seven or eight black spheres from its mouth. They drifted lazily toward Feng Yue.
Naturally, Feng Yue saw Han Li's every move. He was momentarily taken aback. This gourd artifact was one of the most common items around — virtually every low-level cultivator knew of it as an affordable, cost-effective tool, and almost all of them had used something similar.
Whether the container was a gourd, a bottle, or a flask, the spheres it shot out were all called by the same grand name: "Chaos Origin Pearls." But compared to top-tier artifacts, their power was truly negligible — they barely qualified as mid-grade artifacts.
And precisely because of this, Feng Yue grew suspicious.
Before the spheres could reach him, he reached out and produced an "Ice Spear Technique" talisman. With a flick, the talisman instantly transformed into a gleaming, crystalline-white ice spear that shot forward to meet them head-on.
With a sharp crack, the ice spear smashed through three or four spheres in quick succession before shattering into pieces. White ice shards scattered through the air like snow from the heavens, forming a brief, glittering hail — strikingly beautiful to behold.
Only then did Feng Yue breathe easy and turn his attention back to Han Li. For at this moment, Han Li held a large blue-green banner in his hands. On its surface, a green floodhorn writhed with bared fangs and unsheathed claws, straining to leap free as though it were alive.
Feng Yue's experience was vast. One glance told him this had to be a premium piece among top-tier artifacts — its power was absolutely not to be underestimated!
