The Snow of Destruction was the Dream World's method of constraining a sealed Calamity Lord — both their shackle and their cage.
Under normal circumstances, a Calamity Lord could rely on the thick layers of seals to protect itself. But once unsealed, it had to face the relentless erosion of the Snow of Destruction — an assault that targeted both the origin of the soul and the primal force of the world simultaneously.
No Lord could endure such constant attrition, which was why they always remained sealed, unless some extraordinary circumstance arose.
The enormous woman's face shattered, leaving behind only a little girl.
Her eyes were vacant, and perched atop her head was a white moth of the same kind, though slightly smaller than the previous one.
Once the Dream Demon quieted down of her own accord, the Snow of Destruction instantly diminished to an acceptable level.
"Damn it… that
Bewilderment flickered across the Dream Demon's avatar. Then, a message was sent directly outward.
"Hmm? Dream Demon girl… have you found the thief who stole from my treasury?"
Several minutes later, accompanied by terrifying pressure, a massive tornado migrated before the Dream Demon girl. Powerful Snow of Destruction swirled around it — any ice, boulder, or even living thing could only ceaselessly disintegrate beneath its onslaught.
The speaker was none other than a Steel Knight standing over a hundred meters tall.
It wore ice-blue armor, and at the center of its chest blazed a blindingly bright cross-shaped rune. Its face, concealed behind a helmet, showed no expression — only a single red point of light that radiated extreme calamity and malevolent energy as it surveyed the scene.
Above its head, a massive dark cloud perpetually churned, and the terrifying Snow of Destruction fell ceaselessly from it. Even the Dream Demon's avatar was forced to retreat a short distance to avoid the onslaught.
From the waist down, the entity was shrouded within the thick tornado, where enormous blocks of ice were faintly visible. The horrifying vortex howled without end, blending with the Snow of Destruction into a single tempest of devastation.
The powerful Rules of Calamity, intertwined with the malevolent force of Resentment, took the form of countless weeping faces — at least several hundred million of them — densely packed and swirling around the entity.
This was the Calamity Lord — Ceruleth! A powerful eighth-level existence! A sinister god who commanded the Rules of Calamity and Resentment among others, a being that had made countless worlds weep — and he had now descended in his true form!
"It's been a while, Ceruleth…"
The Dream Demon girl smiled as she greeted him. "It seems you truly despise the target — you've even brought your true body!"
"That thief stole one of my Soro Gems! Without it, my true body will need an additional ten thousand years to recover after the calamity!!!"
Ceruleth's voice was hoarse, like the combined cawing of countless crows, carrying a strange and nauseating power. Beneath it lurked fury of the highest degree!
"That damned thief — I will cast him into the Despair Plains, seal his True Spirit, and then slowly peel his skin off over the course of ten thousand years!!!"
"I've obtained information on the thief here. He also has a seventh-level Wizard ally, so be careful…"
The Dream Demon girl extended a finger, and a moth flew directly to Ceruleth, who swallowed it.
Through this peculiar means of communication, Ceruleth immediately received the image of Burdak from earlier, as well as the figure of Leilin standing beside him.
"Just two newly advanced seventh-levels? I can annihilate their True Spirits with a single hand!"
Ceruleth shook his head dismissively, then turned to look at the Dream Demon girl again. "In all my long memory, you've never been this kind-hearted…"
"Hehe… that person also harmed my avatar. He even caused me to lose a portion of my
The girl's face turned a shade paler.
"True… your abilities lean more toward Bewitchment. Although even eighth-level beings can be captured unknowingly, once the target is on guard…"
Ceruleth smiled as he spoke, simultaneously redirecting the blizzard to pursue the direction of his curse mark.
"Bewitchment?"
Every inch of this territory was a fusion of the Dream Demon's own essence with the original landscape — her reconnaissance ability was nothing short of terrifying.
So after only a brief moment, the girl could already confirm that Ceruleth had truly departed. She gazed in the direction he had gone, a peculiar smile playing on her face.
Among the Calamity Lords, the Dream Demon was widely regarded as lacking in combat prowess. Yet she was the longest-lived of all the Lords, with a history that could be traced all the way back to the primordial Final War!
How could a being of such caliber possibly have weaknesses and flaws?
While the other Lords believed the Dream Demon's talent lay in Bewitchment and Sealing, that was in fact not the case.
Her true specialty was the keen perception of souls!
"The One-Eyed Dragon is one thing, but that young Wizard gave me such an eerie and dangerous feeling — not at all because of his Warlock bloodline, but rather something… like a natural predator…"
The girl's eyes grew solemn as she recalled that dangerous Wizard.
Her actual relationship with Ceruleth was neither good nor bad — there was no need to offend two Rule-level beings on his account.
But the moment she had laid eyes on Leilin, her innate soul perception had screamed extreme danger, as if Leilin were her natural nemesis.
It was precisely because of this that the girl had attacked immediately upon their first meeting to test him.
"Completely unafraid of my Soul Dust… and this doesn't even seem to be the limit of his abilities…"
The girl bit her finger, her jade-like brow slightly furrowed, radiating a heartbreaking charm.
It was precisely this sense of danger, combined with her own cautious nature, that had made the girl abandon the idea of direct pursuit.
"Fine… anyway, if something goes wrong, Ceruleth the fool will be the one to bear the brunt… Let me see just how many cards that Wizard has left."
A crystalline moth trembled slightly, releasing a puff of glittering dust before vanishing from sight, secretly following in Ceruleth's wake.
…
"Oh! Damn it! Leilin, have you lost your mind? Why would you attack our ally?!"
Burdak's massive body slammed into the ground, sending up a cloud of dust. He shook his head and roared.
"You're the one who's lost his mind! Still not awake?"
Leilin glanced at Burdak, then struck without warning — a fist wreathed in blood-red flames smashed狠狠地 into the other's face.
BAM!
Burdak was sent hurtling backward like a cannonball, smashing through several towering, rugged peaks in succession.
"Damn it… you actually dared to hit this handsome face of mine? I'll challenge you to a duel… ugh…"
Burdak shook his head, spitting out a mouthful of blood and teeth — along with even more Soul Dust. He cursed and swore, nearly reverting to his original form, but then his expression shifted.
From rage, to confusion, and finally to a creeping dread!
Soul Dust — something that could directly affect the True Spirit, surpassing any illusion spell — even Rule-level beings found it nearly impossible to resist!
"That stinking moth actually tried to control me? Me, Burdak the One-Eyed Dragon! Prophet and great scholar of the Aochuang World… who has traveled through countless worlds and left behind treasures and legends — nearly got controlled???"
"ROAAAR…"
Burdak bellowed. After the fear came a towering rage.
For these Rule-level beings, minor injuries were nothing more than losses of energy — something that could be recovered over time given their endless lifespans. So those hardly mattered.
But if anyone attempted to interfere with their free will, or worse, to enslave them — that was an enmity that could only be settled in death!
"The Dream Demon Lord of the Dream World! I'll remember this!"
Burdak exhaled a fierce breath of white mist, but he wasn't foolish enough to shout about charging back immediately — showing he still retained some rationality.
He himself was only seventh-level, while the opponent clearly possessed eighth-level strength! And what's more… he still carried a curse on his body, pursued by yet another Calamity Lord.
"Leilin! I'm sorry!"
At this point, Burdak clearly understood that Leilin was his true ally — not someone to be offended lightly.
Especially since there were still many things he would need to ask of him.
"Hmph… awake now?" Leilin snorted coldly, though inwardly he found the situation somewhat puzzling.
"That Calamity Lord whose true body is the Dream Demon — her behavior was rather strange. She didn't even know us yet attacked without warning, and then didn't pursue afterward… Could she have discovered something?"
Her bizarre behavior forced Leilin to consider the possible explanations.
But his thoughts were interrupted by a notification from the Chip.
[Ding! Host's Devouring talent has taken effect, fully digesting Rules Will. Host has obtained partial information on the "Bewitchment" Rule! Host has obtained partial clues regarding the "Illusion" Rule! Native Illusion talent enhanced!]
By relying on his Devouring Rule, Leilin could consume the power of other Rule-level beings and convert it into his own Rules comprehension.
"A pity… even after evolving to a seventh-level talent, it's still unable to extract much from a Rule-level being. Converted into Chip percentages, it's not even one percent — still far inferior to the
Leilin sighed.
The conversion of Rules naturally involved losses, and even for Leilin, the ratio was appallingly low.
What he had just absorbed was only a fragment of the Dream Demon's Will. But if it had been a deity from the World of Gods instead, extracting a sliver of Divinity would have been no problem at all — a difference of more than tenfold!
"Even for someone who possesses Devouring like me, other Rule-level beings offer nothing worthwhile. That makes sense — if this kind of rapid power-up were possible, the entire Wizard World would have descended into chaos long before any outside enemy arrived, with everyone devouring and destroying each other… Only the World of Gods can serve as a hunting ground for Wizards."
Compared to the grueling conversion between Wizards, the divine Rules of the World of Gods were effortless to absorb, with an astonishingly high conversion ratio — one could even devour the opponent to obtain complete Rules! This was what drove every Wizard mad!
