Chapter 833: Before Today's Update, Wang Yu Has Something to Say to Readers.
My typing speed seems to be getting slower and slower. It now takes me a full six or seven hours to write a single chapter, and honestly, I'm feeling quite depressed about it myself.
This is probably because there's been so much setup earlier on, requiring me to think over more and more details and elements. Plus, I've always believed it's better to deliberate more and produce a chapter of higher quality. That's the only way to do right by the readers who are paying to read! So even when I finish writing a chapter, I repeatedly revise the details and fix any inconsistencies, which means the speed just never picks up.
When I see some readers constantly saying that my update quantity is unstable, and the timing is unreliable too, all I can do is smile bitterly to myself.
If I could easily pump out two chapters a day, why wouldn't I set a fixed schedule for update quantity and timing? Everyone knows that only consistent updates can build up readership.
The truth is, even though I'm desperately writing every single day now, producing two chapters a day is still a real struggle.
Attentive readers will have noticed that my update time for each chapter has been getting pushed back by two or three hours almost every day. And every two or three days, I can only manage one chapter. Otherwise, I simply can't keep up.
What's more, my actual experience with writing novels and typing has only been a little over a year. Both my ability to self-regulate and my typing speed are far inferior to those of some of the great authors out there. I hope everyone can be a bit more understanding towards Wang Yu.
My current update speed is already me pushing myself to the absolute limit. Apart from some necessary household chores, I spend thirteen or fourteen hours a day in front of my computer. I've been living this life for over a year now. Looking back on it, even I myself find it incredible.
I actually didn't want to burden everyone with these complaints about my hardships!
Because I've always believed that readers pay to read a novel, not to hear the author grumble about difficulties. Difficulties are fine—I just try my best to overcome them myself. As long as everyone can read a high-quality novel, that's what matters.
But recently, some readers seem to feel that my updates aren't as stable as they were at the start. Some have said Wang Yu is putting on airs, becoming arrogant, and other complaints like that.
Sigh! When I see things like that, all I can do is be speechless.
I'm just a writer, scraping by like everyone else. What airs could I possibly be putting on? I'm just desperately trying to write, busy with life just like all of you.
