House Agleia is a marquisate from which Reina hails, Varis's betrothed since childhood and future queen. The house is strong in law, legislation and culture, and deliberately keeps the rank of marquis, never reaching for a ducal title.
Its head is Marquis Rivell, Reina's father: he entered the house by adoption from a cadet branch, served as commander of the guard and was a friend of King Ars. Out of compassion and love he married the sickly Laura, Ars's former betrothed, and threatened to 'raise a bow against the realm' should Ars's son ever make Reina weep. After the war Rivell becomes governor-general of liberated Bertea. Within Reina herself the power of the demon-god Morrigan slumbered from birth, passed down through her mother Laura's silver bracelet - a relic tied to heretical magic.
