First of all, thank you all so much — last night was amazing! Even though "Uncle Octopus" slipped a bit to "Uncle Flatbread" along the way, we closed the gap to around three hundred. As Feng Gong would say: I love you all to death!
Also, today's updates might be pushed back a little, because when I sat down last night to write this morning's chapter, I hit a wall. A lot of the material involved requires flipping through books and references, and I spent all night plus woke up at six this morning to finally get things mostly straightened out. The subject matter of this book makes writing inherently difficult, and I can't sacrifice readability just for the sake of a burst of output.
Anyway, enough digressing — I'm cutting myself off from the internet right now to write. I'll aim to post the first chapter by ten-thirty, the second at one-thirty in the afternoon, then catch a quick nap before the third chapter at six in the evening and the fourth at nine-thirty tonight.
