Description
The Radiance Church is a prominent religious institution in Throne of Magical Arcana, representing the doctrine of the Saint Truth and worshipping the Almighty Lord, the God of Truth. Centered in the regions around the Storm Strait and within the kingdom of Holm, it wields strong influence over both the spiritual and political life of the realm, preaching faith, truth and divine justice.
The Church is organized in a strict hierarchy, headed by the Pope and his Grand Cardinals, with cardinals, bishops and priests governing local parishes, and militant orders such as the Inquisition and the Knights of Grail enforcing its doctrine and purging heresy. Its history is long and turbulent, shaped by internal schisms and by its enduring rivalry with the sorcerers of the Congress of Magic.
In the events of the story the Radiance Church is drawn into intense political maneuvering and confrontation, seeking to solidify its authority against rising magical factions. Following dramatic clashes - including the use of the divine spell God's Arrival - the Church shifts to a strategic defense, yet its power ultimately falters, and it is recorded as destroyed.
