Description

Crassel Walt is the Second Head of House Walt and one of the Seven Ancestors whose Skills and memories are preserved inside the blue Jewel that Lyle inherits. Presented in the guise of a hunter in leathers, he was the son of the house's founder Basil Walt (the First Generation) and the man who truly established House Walt as a proper provincial noble line. Building on knowledge borrowed from House Foxuz, he laid down the customs of the house, reorganized its scattered village into something manageable, and even instituted the tradition of sending the family's sons and descendants out to slay monsters in order to spur their growth.

Within the Jewel he serves as one of Lyle's demanding instructors. He is blunt, easily irritated, and has a plain, unassuming reputation among the ancestors, but he is fundamentally a diligent administrator who carries the aura of a man used to hardship. His memories dwell on the endless quarrels of his early rule: after inheriting the land he was scorned by villagers who compared him unfavorably to his powerful, dirt-first father, and he had to grind through disputes and resentment to reform the territory. That experience left him with a lasting hatred of horned rabbits, the crop-ruining monsters that plagued the fields, which he now reflexively shoots on sight.

His weapon is the bow, and he is a superb marksman, downing horned rabbits the instant they appear. His Skill is 'All' (Vsyo), a purely support-oriented ability with escalating stages: its second stage widens the area of perception and lets him apply the Skill to several nearby allies at once, gathering them and buffing the whole group in a single activation. Its third and most powerful stage, 'Select,' can distinguish friend from foe within its range and apply effects selectively, enabling precise, ally-safe strikes on a crowded battlefield.

Crassel's arc with Lyle centers on this Skill. Uncharacteristically for the prodigious Lyle, he repeatedly fails to master the 'Select' stage, stalling out right before activation, which leaves Crassel furious and baffled that a skill even less demanding than the Third Generation's should elude him. Much later his legacy endures beyond the main story: in an extra chapter, the Skill he once wielded is reproduced by Leo, who trained it together with Lyle and Monica, using its spherical perception to sense and evade an attack.
