Description

In ancient times the Central Continent was joined by land to the present Demon Continent and was called the Giant Continent. During the Second Human-Demon War, some 4,200 years ago, a colossal blow from the hero Aldebaran the Golden Knight split the Giant Continent in two, creating the Ring Sea between the new landmasses.

A thousand years later, in the Laplace War, the Demon God Laplace invaded the continent — loosing the Red Dragons onto the range to seal the passes — and nearly conquered it all before he was sealed by seven heroes backed by Asura.

Geography

The Central Continent is the largest and most populous landmass of the Six-Faced World and the homeland of nearly all humans. It is split into three parts by the Red Dragon Mountains, a vast range patrolled by flocks of Red Dragons — the continent's strongest monsters. The range can be crossed in only two places, the sheer ravines called the Lower Jaw and the Upper Jaw of the Red Dragon.

The west is ruled by the Asura Kingdom, the wealthiest and most fertile land in the world, where no one goes hungry. The north is a poor region of unending wars between many small states. The south is the Conflict Zone, where great powers including the Dragon King Country wage endless feuds. This is where Rudeus was born and raised, and where his scattered family sought to return after the Teleport Incident.

Lands and Cities

The west is dominated by the Asura Kingdom with the Fittoa region and the ports Wend Port and East Port linking the continent to the Millis Continent. The south holds the Dragon King Country and its vassals — the Kingdom of Shirone (Siluone), Sanakia and Kikka. The snowbound north contains the Ranoa Kingdom with the city of Sharia (home of the Magic University) and the Holy Land of Swords, birthplace of the three sword styles.
