Chapter 59: The Mining Area

February 14, 2014 · 3 min read · 558 words

Leaving the bustling Black Wind Market, Hu Meier led the way as the two headed towards the north side of the Black Wind Forest. Hu Meier seemed rather cheerful, her seductive eyes filled with joy, her cheeks rosy.

"About that day, I'm sorry!" Yang Kai suddenly voiced his apology. His words then had indeed been somewhat harsh, and now coming to ask for help felt rather two-faced.

Hu Meier pursed her lips in a smile. "It's alright. You didn't scold me. I've heard worse things these past few years, and I'm still alive, aren't I?"

"You don't hate me?" Yang Kai asked, surprised.

"Hate you for what?" Hu Meier smiled, then suddenly added, "Actually, I did hate you a bit at first, but... one of your actions made it impossible for me to hate you."

"What action?"

"Hehe, that day when Cheng Shaofeng and Nu Tao suddenly appeared, you stepped in front of me. Maybe it was an unconscious movement, but it was the first time in years that someone genuinely wanted to protect me."

"I don't remember that. But you've had it tough too," Yang Kai said with a sigh. For a perfectly good young woman to willingly ruin her reputation just to help the Blood Battle Gang find more talent—though her methods weren't exactly noble, there was still a filial piety mixed in there.

"Hehe..." Hu Meier laughed sweetly. "It's not tough at all. Don't you know that playing a role is a woman's instinct?"

"Hehe, I haven't really interacted with women much."

"Really?" Hu Meier's eyes lit up.

"Mm, so these past few days, you two sisters have definitely gotten the better of me," Yang Kai said with a straight face.

Hu Meier shot him a glance, feigning annoyance. "You're terrible for saying that! It's a good thing my sister isn't here. If she were, she'd definitely beat you up!"

"Your sister..."

"First level of the Zhenyuan Realm!" Hu Meier answered with a hint of pride.

"Impressive!" Yang Kai praised.

Su Yan was at the third level of the Zhenyuan Realm, so Hu Meier's sister was a bit weaker, but not by much.

Mentioning her sister, Hu Meier recalled what Yang Kai had said earlier and once again burst into laughter, swaying like a flower in the wind, unable to contain herself.

Yang Kai was speechless, forced to stand there and wait for her to catch her breath.

After laughing for a good while, Hu Meier finally calmed down, still smiling. "I've discovered you're incredibly bold. No man has ever dared to say that to my sister before. Are her... things really uneven, one side bigger than the other?"

"Maybe it's the clothes. Tell her not to worry about it when you get back," Yang Kai chuckled.

"What about mine? Are they really proportional?" Hu Meier asked, her face flushing as she boldly inquired.

"Not only are they proportional, they're also round and perky," Yang Kai nodded. "You have a great figure. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself in that regard."

Hu Meier felt somewhat overwhelmed. This straightforward compliment, devoid of any ulterior motive, was probably the nicest thing she'd heard in years.

For a moment, she actually felt a secret thrill in her heart.

"How much longer until we get there?" Yang Kai didn't want to delve further into this topic and asked.
