So, after the Poison Bullet from Poison Magic, I also gave Poison Touch a try.
It was supposed to be a magic that deals poison damage to whoever it touches, but sure enough—there was a catch.
I thought it had pretty impressive performance for a skill you learn at Level 1, but this magic hurts the user too.
In other words, it's a self-destruct technique.
Actually, now that I think about it, don't I have an awful lot of self-destruct moves?
It might be useful for intentionally raising my Poison Resistance, but it's not something you could normally use.
Oh well, I suppose if I combine it with Poison Resistance at Level 3, it might be usable after all.
Poison Resistance is a magic that temporarily boosts Poison Resistance, so pairing it with Poison Touch could make the latter viable.
But I've got Poison Synthesis, so there's really no need to go out of my way to use it.
Why would I willingly use a low-power self-destruct technique?
Its power is low, so it barely even contributes to Proficiency.
Poison Bullet still seems like it might have its uses, but I doubt I'll ever actually use Poison Touch.
I also gave Shadow Magic a try.
The result was, yeah, boring—so I'll skip it.
As for Heterodox Magic, I can't verify its effects without a target, so I'll test it out next time I encounter a Monster.
Well, it's a type of mental attack, so I might not be able to tell whether it's working just by looking at it.
Maybe I'd be able to tell with something like Phantasmal Pain, but could I even tell if something like discomfort was taking effect?
More importantly, is it even okay to use Phantasmal Frenzy on Monsters?
Phantasmal Frenzy basically drives them crazy, right?
Going Berserk on a Monster—that would just power them up, wouldn't it?
…I'd like to think that's not the case, but I should be careful when using it.
And now, the final boss waiting at the end.
Abyss Magic.
Trying this one out has me seriously nervous.
In more ways than one.
No matter how you look at it, this magic is dangerous.
Since I'd evolved into the Ruler of Wisdom, I ran Appraisal on it again just to be sure, but the description was the same as before.
In the end, I still have no idea what the magic's effects are.
I can tell it's clearly a higher-tier version of Shadow Magic, but beyond that, I know nothing.
If I could use it, it might become an absurdly powerful asset, but not knowing what's going to come out of it is terrible for the heart.
I've got Pinnacle of Sorcery, so I shouldn't be able to fail, but it's still nerve-wracking.
Well then, let's start with the Level 1 Gate of Hell.
Alright!
Spell construction!
…Huh?
W-Wait a second!?
I have Pinnacle of Sorcery and I can't control it!?
What is this insane difficulty in the construction process!?
Damn it. No good.
The spell formula I'd been building easily slipped free of my control and crumbled apart.
You'd want to say "no way," but…
Because the Pinnacle of Sorcery I possess, as its name suggests, should sit at the very top of all sorcery-type Skills.
And with that Skill, this is the result?
If even this isn't enough, then nobody in the entire world could ever hope to wield Abyss Magic.
Or rather, what kind of terrifying magic requires this level of construction difficulty?
If a Level 1 spell can't even be properly built, what does that say?
If I somehow managed to activate something like Level 10 Rebellion Hell, would the world just end or something?
Hahaha, no way.
That can't be right?
It really can't be right?
Still, if this is what Level 1 looks like, I won't be able to use it either way.
No.
It's too early to give up.
It was definitely difficult.
But I'm a beginner who only just recently gained the ability to use magic.
Other mages probably ground it out patiently, slowly raising their Skill levels through diligent practice, while I jumped straight ahead and grabbed a cheat Skill.
In other words, I'm not accustomed to it.
So I can use simple magic thanks to the Skill, but when it comes to higher-tier magic, my own inexperience holds me back.
That's what I think.
If so, there's only one answer.
Practice is all there is!
So, I'm handing this off to Body Duty.
Yeah, I get what you want to say, but what about Info Duty?
Can you handle it?
Hmm. But if that's the case, what happens to information gathering?
Couldn't Body Duty cover it to some extent?
I guess I could, but splitting a two-person job into one person means efficiency is going to tank.
Hmm.
《Proficiency has reached a certain threshold. Skill "Parallel Will LV1" has become "Parallel Will LV2"》 Perfect timing!
Hello, third me.
Hello. I heard what you said. Now that I'm here, everything's fine!
Alright! Then Number 3, I'm putting you in charge of magic!
OK, OK, leave it to me.
So, Parallel Will leveled up, and the number of wills that can exist simultaneously has increased.
Info Duty and Body Duty continue as before.
The newly born Magic Duty will focus on practicing Abyss Magic during travel, along with other magic.
With the effects of the Title Ruler of Wisdom, sorcery-related Proficiency gains should be improved, and if I also raise my other Poison Magic and Shadow Magic, they should prove useful down the line.
Plus, Magic Duty can independently add magical attacks in combat.
Poison Bullet from Poison Magic is mediocre when used on its own, but if coordinated with Body Duty, its usefulness skyrockets.
Feinting, surprise attacks—there's a lot I could do depending on the situation.
And Info Duty, who assesses that situation, is an equally vital role.
A true trinity.
Thinking about it again, I'm incredible.
My Status is surging upward, and now alongside my body-based combat style, magic comes flying in too.
Hearing all that, you really wouldn't want me as an enemy, huh?
Wait?
Aren't I, like, super strong?
