Nina Raging

Nina is the daughter of the current head of the ducal house of Raging, Gizu. Like her father, she grew up in a family that does not divide people into highborn and common, and so carries herself without the conceit usual for the nobility here.

She enters the plot as a victim: the orichalcon-rank assassin Mist, on someone else's commission, abducts her after killing her escorting knights, intending to violate her and put her to shame. Alan, who happens to be nearby, intervenes, nearly dies in the first clash, then teleports Nina out of Mist's lair twice.

Rescuing Nina and delivering her, carriage and servants and all, to the ducal garden introduces Alan to her father Gizu — and begins one of the hero's most important alliances. Nina herself is sincerely grateful to her savior and asks her father not to harm him.

Nina's rescue is the occasion that brings Alan together with Duke Gizu, his future patron. Her abduction by Mist also shows the hero, for the first time, clashing with a genuinely strong opponent.
