Igl

Igl is the portly, affable head of the trade-guild branch in the town of Momentum, holder of an accurate Appraisal skill that can even tell stolen goods from legitimate ones. When the unknown twelve-year-old Alan brings him a restored elixir, Igl does not try to cheat the child, does not pry into the goods' origin, and pays a fair fifty gold coins.

By this honest act he markedly improves Alan's opinion of this world's people. Even under pressure from the powerful 'Rest' trading company, which forces him to break off the deal for a time, Igl regrets it and keeps helping the hero where he can.

Later it is his endorsement signature on the trade card that opens the doors of the capital's trade guild to Alan — Master Basis, who knows Igl personally, takes the hero seriously at once. Igl remains for Alan a model of the 'moderate' dealer whose restrained honesty is a rarity here.

Igl is Alan's first honest ally and his steady outlet for elixirs and rare loot. His endorsement links the trade networks of Momentum and the capital, giving the hero access to major deals such as the White Royal Tiger-Wolf auction.
