Rikard Auclair
Description
Rikard Auclair is Anne's late father, a duke and the kingdom's sword, called a god of war for his martial might. He died not as the traitor he was made out to be: in truth Prince Alois plotted to betray the realm, and Rikard killed him and willingly took the blame, sacrificing himself for Corine.
His execution toppled House Auclair—Anne's mother took her own life—but the memory of her father and the longing to restore his honor drive Anne throughout the story.
