Programming Magic
Description
Programming Magic is the foundation of Irulande's magic system. Spells are coded in a special magical language: a mage builds a formula and through it invokes the laws above physics. Common parts of processes are cut out as modules and recombined into new spells.
In the game Irulande the spell source code was open to all players, so their magic ran roughly three centuries ahead of this world's. That knowledge, kept in Souji's memory, is his decisive edge—he can inscribe up to twenty-four thousand formula steps in his mind.
